Prototype build diary: building our first 3D LED truck
We are building in public. This is where the shop, the first prototype and every lesson along the way will live.

Why a build diary
Case studies prove what happened. A build diary shows how we think. We are setting up our shop and building our first prototype, and we would rather show the work than describe it. Clients get to see how a concept becomes steel, screens and sculpted forms before they commit to their own.
What we are building
The prototype is an always-on LED truck designed around the R66M Modular Mount System, so 3D toppers can bolt on and off in market while the branded wrap and mounts stay put. It pairs high-definition LED panels with sculpted 3D elements and is designed to carry custom sensory effects when a project calls for them.
The stages
Stage one is concept and visualization, where we explore the vehicle and the visual world. Stage two is engineering, where structure, mounts, power and screens become a production plan. Stage three is fabrication in our shop. Stage four is testing, content and the first street activation. Each stage gets its own entry as it happens.
What you will find here
Photos and short videos from the shop, notes on design decisions, what worked and what we changed, and the first topper swaps. Entries are added as milestones are reached, and we only post what we have actually built.
Want to shape it?
If you are planning a launch, tour or seasonal program, tell us about it. Early partners help set the roadmap and see the prototype first.
How to follow along
Bookmark this page and check back as the shop and prototype take shape. Each entry will be dated, plain about what is finished and what is still concept, and linked to the capability it supports, such as LED trucks, experience carts or custom vehicles.
If you are a brand or agency planning an activation, a build in progress is a good moment to talk. You can see how we work, ask questions and influence what we build next.
Frequently asked questions
What is the prototype?
Our first always-on 3D LED truck, built around the R66M Modular Mount System for swappable toppers.
When will entries be posted?
As milestones are reached. Check back, or email info@route66marketing.com to be notified.
Is the image on this page a finished vehicle?
No. It is a concept diagram of how toppers swap. Conceptual designs shown for illustrative purposes only. They are speculative ideas, not actual client projects.
Can I visit the shop?
